Fundraising Goals

In October 2018, the Stillwater Community Center Foundation (SCCF) debuted its Classic Cinema at the Center movie series in the Winfrey Houston Theater at the Stillwater Community Center. Their very first screening was the 1941 film Meet John Doe.

Since that time, the SCCF has presented more than 73 classic films—ranging from 2016’s Hidden Figures all the way back to 1933’s The Thin Man.  Throughout these screenings, our guests have shared comments and concerns about poor image quality in the theater and sound quality in the LAC.

The Stillwater Community Center has worked hard to get the best possible performance from their aging, powered 16 by 9 foot screen and portable projector.  Size and proportions of the theater screen are not well suited for most pre-1960 classic movies nor many modern movies.  The sound system in the Lowry Activity Center can be loud enough but can’t deliver the sound quality commensurate to the quality of the films shown.

We are seeking your help to fund a more robust, bigger and better-proportioned theater screen; a more powerful theater projector to provide a brighter and clearer image; a higher capability sound system for the LAC; and programming.

Our ambitious funding target is $90,000 and we think with your help we can achieve it.
