The Spartanburg Community College Foundation
 Spartanburg Community College Foundation has been an integral part of the success of Spartanburg Community College. State support is critically important to SCC; however, funding levels have decreased. Although the college has formed new, budget-driven plans for maintaining the quality education for those attending, they still must seek supplemental funds if it is to maintain the standard of excellence expected by a demanding workplace environment.
Private dollars raised by the SCC Foundation do not replace other sources of revenue; rather, private dollars allow the SCC Foundation to promote the college's strategic plans for distinctive growth and development and assist hundreds of deserving students and worthy faculty with scholarships and grants.
Mission Statement
To provide assistance to Spartanburg Community College, a comprehensive public two-year community college and as such focuses its efforts on the provision of scholarships, curriculum resources, equipment, facilities and grants that help students, faculty, and the community achieve educational excellence that contributes to a vibrant local economy.

Our Students, Our Success, Our Purpose
As a local community college, SCC changes lives in so many ways. We've created a climate that encourages personal and academic growth by preparing students for entry into the workforce, career advancement, or career change through certificate and associate degree programs. We also prepare our students for transfer to baccalaureate institutions by providing transfer degrees, courses, and services.
The Spartanburg Community College Foundation is a non-profit 501 C (3) entity. As such, tax deductible gifts of cash, securities, personal and /or real property are welcomed. All gifts are used to achieve the stated mission of the SCC Foundation, which is to support scholarship and programs at SCC.
SCC is state-supported, but the SCC Foundation is totally funded by contributors. As you review some of the ways to chart your personal gifting and planned giving strategies, please keep the SCC Foundation in mind. We know that you support causes, events and programs for a variety of reasons. It may be a strong belief in the same values and services as the SCC Foundation or, simply personal preference.
